Abdullah ibn Abbas (Abdullah ibn Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib), commonly known as Ibn Abbas, was one of the most revered companions of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and is celebrated for his vast knowledge of the Qur'an, Hadith, and Islamic jurisprudence.
As the cousin of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), he held a unique position within the Muslim community and served as a teacher and interpreter of Islamic teachings throughout his life. He is often referred to as "Hibr al-Ummah" (the scholar of the ummah)[citation needed] and "Tarjuman al-Qur'an" (the interpreter of the Qur'an)[citation needed].
