Sivakarthikeyan Doss was born on 17 February 1985 to a Tamil family in Singampunari, Sivagangai district, he grew up in a family with a public service legacy.
His father, G. Doss, was a jail superintendent, and his mother, Raji Doss, is a homemaker.
